One of my all time favourite names is Rowan (boy or girl, although I only like it for a girl).
-Rowan is a type of tree.

to read more about the Rowan tree, and it’s history and ledgends.
In Irish legends, which are full of magic and deep hidden meaning, we hear about a magical Rowan Tree, guarded by a dragon, whose berries had the sustaining virtue of nine meals. They also healed the wounded and added a year to a man’s life!

Acacia – The boy’s and girl’s name Acacia \a-ca-cia\ is pronounced a-KAY-shah. It is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "thorny tree". Name of the flower related to the mimosa. The plant was named in the 16th century with the Latin form "acacia" of Greek "akakia". Biblical: acacia wood was used to build the Arc of the Covenant.
Laurel – The girl’s name Laurel \la(u)-rel\ is pronounced LAWR-el. It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is "the bay, or laurel plant".
Bryony – The girl’s name Bryony \b-ryo-ny, br-yony\ is pronounced BRY-o-nee. It is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "climbing plant". 20th century flower name coinage: a vine (Greek "bruonia meaning "to swell") native to Europe with large leaves and small flowers.
Indigo – The girl’s name Indigo \i-ndi-go, in-digo\. A deep blue dye from the indigo plant.
Sorrel – The boy’s and girl’s name Sorrel \s(or)-rel\ is of Old French and Old German origin. From the plant "surele" which is a derivative of "sur", meaning "sour" in German. This refers to the acid taste of its leaves.
