My parents don’t eat sugar, dairy, wheat, non-organic food, white rice… They take tons of supplements and, "eat for their health, not the taste." My mom works in a health food store, and is on 24/7 lecture mode. In my opinion, they are overly obsessed and very opinionated.

I like to eat things that taste good to me. Otherwise I feel miserable when I feel deprived, and I binge later. My parents tell me I will be fat one day, and very unhealthy. It’s so annoying, because its not like I over eat, or eat McDonalds etc. And I’m 23, (moved out at 17,) so why do they keep lecturing me? I feel healthy and happy. But now when I eat spaghetti or something, I feel guilty (hearing their lectures in my head…) that the noodles aren’t organic whole wheat or something.

So I want to know… Do you have to have tons of restrictions and a strict diet to be healthy?

I’m 13 and going on overweight. Now, my mom and I are going to do Weight Watchers together and train for a 5k. I’ve been trying to avoid processed foods (including frozen meals such as Weight Watchers), but now that I’m doing this with my mom… What should I do? Should I go ahead and start or should I avoid the processed and go for organic?
Also, my goal is 115 (I’m 123 and 5’5"), so how quickly will the diet work? Thanks!

I’ve been vegetarian for the past two years, and it hasn’t exactly made me lose weight.
I’ve been reading up on the "Blood Type Diet" and I’m kind of curious. My dad is B type and my mom is O type. I guess my possibilities are BO or O or B
So, is being vegetarian a bad idea? Should I incorporate lean turkeys and white chicken breasts into my diet? Because when I ate these foods three years ago, I was naturally underweight.

By the way, I currently eat a lot of vegetables and usually 3 liters of water a day. I eat tons of fruit and organic raisin bran for breakfast most of the time.

because I’m a vegetarian I normally eat only pasta EVERYDAY so for a week I decided to change my diet because I could hardly go toilet without laxatives. I’ve started eating more cereals, fruits and vegetables, vegetarian meats and organic foods, my mom has also been making a spinach and tomato mix with rice and potatos, which I love! my clothes have gotten really loose already in a week, i’m going toilet two times a day, I don’t feel stuffy, I feel great actually. but thats not the question, MY QUESTION IS HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK IS IT OKAY TO HAVE PASTA WITHOUT GAINING WEIGHT? my health teacher told me that pasta normally turns straight into fat and makes you constipated? and also have you got any got vegetarian recipes??? even 1 or 2 would be good.

My mom is turning 50 in May, she just went to the hospital this week for chest pains, the doc. told her she has high blood pressure and cholesterol, She’s nearly 300 lbs. size 40 or more waist, she’s trying to quit smoking, she works from 8am to 6pm at a desk job, so when she gets home she really doesn’t want to do anything, she comes home sits on the floor smoking cigarettes and drinking wine, then she’ll eat frozen pizza rolls or chicken nuggets, or any other finger food that’s fast and easy, she eats no breakfast and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. Naturally I’m frightened that she may not wake up one day. So I want to know what kind of diet she can use, I heard Organic foods can lower cholesterol and blood pressure is this true? Or anything else. And also I’d like to know meals we can both eat. I’m 22, 160 lbs, 34 waist, I smoke 1-2 cigarettes a day, and can’t say I eat any healthier than she does. Any help will be great and thanks for reading

I’m going on a raw food diet and my mom went to the store and bought some questionable foods…

-Multigrain Flax Crackers
-Roasted sunflower seeds
-Granola (it says organic cereal)

And are things that say "organic" considered appropriate for a raw food diet?
thanks!
