Hey guys, I want to start eating better (like organic and choosing foods that don’t have preservatives). I want to understand labels better so that I can chose the best food. I went to a health food store and was lost! There are so many different types of teas, salt (like Hawaiian sea salt with charcoal in it) and spices. So i decided not to buy anything just yet but to inform myself. I would like to be educated on the different types of teas and spices and the benefits they have on the body. I understand balance and proportions for meal planning…I know you have to eat a lot of greens and fruits. I just want to know more about other things. I’m Italian and trust me I love the food I eat…I just want to expand my knowledge.
Same for the green living. I want to start using greener products that have less harmful effects on the environment and on me :) I’d to make my own perfume/shampoo.
So now the question: do you guys know of a site and/or book that help me with this? I know I can google it but I feel there is a lot of false info on the net and I don’t want to be misinformed. I wanted a trustworthy source. Thanks guys, I will pick a best answer:)

I arsed this question under another category but I don’t think it was the right one
Okay, people have been telling me I look fine, Im normal for my height etc. but I dont feel confident.
Im 165 pounds, and 5’7 almost 5’8 .
Im 13
I found a new diet, were all you eat is soup and water. for like 2 -3 weeks, thats it not even fruits or veggies,
the soup
is water with cabbage, tomatoes, garlic, celery
thats it, You boil it with the vegetables and then you take them out, so basically its soup with nothing in it but a bit of natural flavouring from the veggies,
It taste gross,.
but I heard it looses up to 30 poudns a month
and its true, because my cousin was soo fat after pregnacy and she did the diet and after a month she was perfecet.
I dont get it, I eat organic stuff and Never eat sweets or mcdonalds or fast food places.
I Dance and do gymnastics. Im pretty active, but my weight dosent go down.
I am a 16 year old male. I weigh 165 pounds. School starts in 2 months and i want to lose as many pounds as I can. I made a schedule so I can get off at least 10-15 pounds in these 2 months. And I have an online job so i have to do all my working out in the morning. Does that matter?

Is this a good diet? (of course i will mix things up. this is the start until i find other things that are healthy)
So Iv suffered from acne since I was 10. The worse is the under the skin deep purple acne on the chin mostly. I also had back acne as well. Iv got dairy out and that reduced my acne greatly.I have NO back acne at all for the first time in 8 years. The past 2 weeks I have been working on eating only organic or raw foods.
My acne was doing the best Iv ever seen than about 4 days ago I ate baked salmon. I now have flare ups and Im wondering if its from salmon. Im going back to the no meat only veggies /fruits and larabars and oatmeal as well. How long did it take for your guys acne to clear up if anyone els has done this diet?
So I was doing some online research and was very close to purchasing a colon cleanse kit. However, I found a lot of information stating that a healthy diet and lots of fiber is all humans need to get the movements going as the colon is a self-cleansing organ AND that colon cleansing can flush out the beneficial bacteria and cause dehydration. So I’ve opted to up the fiber and drink more water. I go at least twice a day, so I don’t think I have a problem. I will leave my colon alone and continue to take probiotics.
My first question is this: Should I do a parasite cleanse? I haven’t tested positive for parasites, but I read that you can have parasites and not know it and that a parasite cleanse should be done once a year. I read that humans can pick up parasites just about anywhere, so is a yearly parasite cleanse necessary for maintenace/prevention?
As for the second question: Is a detox really necessary, or should a drastic change in diet and supplements do the trick? I saw a nutritionist who wants me to go totally organic with fruits and meats (I agree with the meats), but I can’t afford totally organic with produce as my budget doesn’t allow for it. Plus,I live in LA and am exposed to toxic air every day. The whole "detox" and "organic only" craze has me confused. If I thorougly wash my conventionally grown fruits and veggies, is that good enough to was away pesticides, bacteria, and parasites?
