I really just heat things up, but I always try to go for organic, low fat and lots of fruits and veggies. Some example meals that are my daughters favorites (shes four)
Organice flax seed chips with lowfat organic cheese, organic beans, chicken with veggies on the side for nachos.
Organic everything, frozen strawberries, banana, soy protein and soy milk to make a really yummy shake.
Mac and Cheese with broccoli. Fresh fruit for desert.
Cheese, crackers, turkey meat, fresh fruit and veggies for what we can a feast! We just share it all (so great in the summer and my husband loves it too)
Grilled Salmon (she loves it and it’s easy), aspargus and mashed sweet potatoes.
Turkey meatloaf (trader joes), spinach, mashed potatoes.
Am I really such a sucky parent because I rarely prepare things from scratch but never let her eat fast food? She knows that certain foods are treats and she gets those too.
Just curious what people thought.
My husband and I joke about this, he cooks, I heat things up. But I always try to go with less processed whole foods. Fiber, low fat and fresh as much as possible and organic. I have acces to that and the means.
Thanks for the awesome answers.
And, she’s a healthy weight, eats like a horse and so much energy it’s crazy. Her teachers tell me she’s the only child in her class that has vegetables and fruits in her lunch EVERYDAY. It’s scary.
