I research a lot on pesticide on our everyday food and over time it seriously harm us and the importance of eating organic. I just wondering do you people that feed your pleco veggies, worry about the pesticides on the food that could leach into the water and by eating it, may cause serious health problem for the fish.

I have always struggled with weight. I am a 5’7, 23 year old female. I have gone from 125lbs to 155lbs in 2 years. My weight has always fluctuated like that my whole life. I can’t do diets, I need a life change… one that I can not only deal with, but LOVE! Is it possible???? When I diet, I always think of food… and it seems like when I do fad diets, as soon as I am off of it I endulge in the foods I denied myself, and eat crazy amounts of them to "make up" for what I denied myself. I hate exercise!!! I have tried it all… gyms, p90x, 10 minute trainer, cardio…. I can’t motivate myself. It seems more like a duty than anything. I love bread, eggs, cheese, fruit, veggies, chicken, fish… but I can’t afford to buy all organic stuff, or chicken breasts for dinner every night. Can anyone help me who has been in my shoes? I am now 155 lbs. I want to get down to 135 and keep it off… I would love to get there by my b-day, or at least get to 140 by my b-day, which is Aug 30th. But I want to get there in a fashion that I can KEEP IT OFF… Thanks for any advice!
hello. so im going on an oatmeal diet for 30 days. ill eat oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast probably an apple. and for lunch oatmeal again with 1 cup of steamed vegetables and probably steamed fish. and for dinner oatmeal again with steamed vegetables and a fruit. i might also eat go lean cereal from kashi. anyway will this diet work? i heard from a friend that it does. i eat Erewhon organic instant oatmeal apple cinnamon flavor by the way. calories per packet is 130 and has 4g of sugar and 100 mg of sodium. think this will help me lose 20 pounds? i am ofcourse going to exercise as well. running and strength training
Today I watched part of Food Inc…honestly I am the last person on earth i ever expected to make drastic changes in accord with the movie, but i decided society (and myself, most importantly) need to make huge changes to become healthier and treat animals better.
Here are the changes I have decided to make:
no more fast food.
no more factory produced meat (I’m sparingly going to eat meat…when i do, it will be locally grown and free range…slaughtered humanely at a small town butcher)
eating as organic as possible.
when i can’t get free range and properly grown meat, i will refuse to eat it.
I checked out my grocery store..there are great tofu and vegetable substitutes for meat.
Do you think these changes are good?
At the moment, I have been eating fast food, cheap and mass produced meat and non organic vegetables and fruit.
Since I am making so many changes at once, I have decided to still drink some diet soda…but hope to eventually cut it out.
Also, have you made any changes like this (have you seen the movie food inc? it truly stuck with me and inspired me to make changes)? what were your positive outcomes?
I forgot to add…i also buy free range eggs from a friend and am willing to eat fish for protein
u know it…thanks! i don’t intent to be a hippie/radical lol…i just want to make drastic change…i know i’ve been really unhealthy and want to make my myself healthier. I’m totally excited about the change and know I can keep up with it. I will get plenty of protein…for dinner I had an organic spinach and feta "hot pocket" for lack of a better term lol. for 250 calories it had 11 grams of protein! I also had some organic strawberries
