We’ve recently, upon her 4 month birthday, begun feeding her Earth’s Best organic rice cereal mixed with her non-organic formula. Then a week into it she has gotten severe rash on her bottom. We use cloth diapers and desitin (with a wash cloth in between). The rash has nearly gone away since we’ve stopped feeding her the rice. Can this really be the cause? And if so, Why?
I bought some baby formula over the internet and I was wondering if I can take the formula back to any store that sells it?
I ordered Soy, but I wanted Dairy.
I know Whole Foods and Babies R Us carry Earth’s Best Organic formula.
I’m not sure what the WIC formulas are, but I am trying to return Earth’s Best Organic Infant Formula.
i understand the concern.. Hmmm
I was looking for an exchange, not a refund.
I read the ingredients of the Earth’s best organic baby food and it said it was just organic apples and vitamin C. So what is the difference between this and making your own? It had no preservatives and none of the other things put in regular baby food. I’m torn in my deicision of which to do and I really don’t see what is so bad about giving jarred if it’s organic???
My baby is 100% breastfed. He is 7 1/2 months old, and we’re down to 4-5 feeding a day, and he sleeps completely through the night. Thing is, at this point, I don’t make enough to feed him AND pump extra bottles (plus, I’m just sick of pumping!)
Also … do I use a sippy cup or bottle for formula at this age? He rarely uses either, as he is primarily breastfed from the "tap" … LOL.
What do you think of the idea of me giving him organic formula for those RARE times that I am not home to feed him. I’m a stay-at-home mom, so this in only once or twice a week that I go out to do something for myself while dad watches baby. Do you think baby will take to the formula if it’s only once in a great while? What are your thoughts on this?
Also — does anyone have experience with Earth’s Best Infant Forumla? That is what I would use if I did this … thanks!
My eight month old daughter has been exclusively breastfed. I KNOW she’s not nursing/intaking as much breastmilk as she used to, because she only nurses for about five minutes and then she’s done. She also eats quite a bit of solids. I can only pump about an ounce of milk every three hours. My husband and I have some things coming up this month where we’d like to leave our daughter with Grandma for a few hours.
Seeing as how the pumping ain’t as easy as it used to be, and baby girl would only be having maybe one bottle while we were gone, I’d like to use an organic formula to mix with whatever breastmilk I could squeeze out.
I only feed her organic foods, so I’d like to continue with organics in whatever she’s consuming.
Sorry, that was kinda rambling. I guess I’d like to know if…
a. anyone’s tried the Earth’s Best brand
b. how their babies reacted to it
c. tips on getting her used to the taste
Thanks in advance!
sweetskittlzbby: I wanted to go organic because of the lack of pesticides, that’s all. And I kinda have a deep distrust for mainstream formula companies.
jennalu: ? I don’t know how that relates to my question. I’m asking about infant formula. And we eat organic as well, soooo…
parental unit: I thought babies weren’t supposed to have straight milk of any other mamallian kind until at least one year. Has your baby had goat’s milk?
I have a 10 month old who I only give organic to. I buy Earth’s Best jar food, and I feed him fresh organic fruits and veggies that I prepare myself. He also has never had juice and I am in the process of weening his formula so he gets whole organic milk. The thing is he was a child with very bad reflux and had to see specialist after specialist and was eventually put on Enfamil Nutramigen as well as he has a condition called Tracheamalasia, concerning his breathing. He LOVES to eat and he is on the smaller side so everyone is always making comments that if I fed him REAL food he wouldn’t be so small. However neither myself or his father are big people, 5’2" and 5’7". So I don’t envision him ever being a Kobe or Shaq. I am just sick of the comments and the hurtful things people say. How do you tell people in a nice way to mind their own business and get them to respect my wishes in how he is fed. I know when I am not there he is being given juice and food I don’t approve of, but what can I really do aside from banning him from his grandparents?
