Today I watched part of Food Inc…honestly I am the last person on earth i ever expected to make drastic changes in accord with the movie, but i decided society (and myself, most importantly) need to make huge changes to become healthier and treat animals better.
Here are the changes I have decided to make:
no more fast food.
no more factory produced meat (I’m sparingly going to eat meat…when i do, it will be locally grown and free range…slaughtered humanely at a small town butcher)
eating as organic as possible.
when i can’t get free range and properly grown meat, i will refuse to eat it.
I checked out my grocery store..there are great tofu and vegetable substitutes for meat.
Do you think these changes are good?
At the moment, I have been eating fast food, cheap and mass produced meat and non organic vegetables and fruit.
Since I am making so many changes at once, I have decided to still drink some diet soda…but hope to eventually cut it out.
Also, have you made any changes like this (have you seen the movie food inc? it truly stuck with me and inspired me to make changes)? what were your positive outcomes?
I forgot to add…i also buy free range eggs from a friend and am willing to eat fish for protein
u know it…thanks! i don’t intent to be a hippie/radical lol…i just want to make drastic change…i know i’ve been really unhealthy and want to make my myself healthier. I’m totally excited about the change and know I can keep up with it. I will get plenty of protein…for dinner I had an organic spinach and feta "hot pocket" for lack of a better term lol. for 250 calories it had 11 grams of protein! I also had some organic strawberries
My son is a month old, and my girlfriend got him started on Earth’s Best Soy formula. There’s only one store in my city that sells this crap, and it’s out of the way and more expensive then regular formula. I insist on changing him to a common brand like Similac Soy.
She listens to everything her dumbass mother says organic foods. Her mom actually believes that milk is more dangerous than smoking.
How do I convince her to change this damn formula? It’s really pissing me off.
He is eatting earth’s best organic first foods-Should i start giving him juices and puffs yet?can anyone tell me their veiws on what a 6 month old boy should be eatting on a daily basis everything i read is differant..
(my son is 6 months and 20 pounds 281/2 inches…he’s not fat he’s large and ahead for his age)
I am looking for an organic baby cereal for my daughter who will be starting on solids very soon. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between Earth’s Best and Happy Bellies (made by HappyBaby), and if one is better than the other?! Any experiences with either one? Thanks.
I’ve heard one person said Gerber would be more trusted brand than Earth Best, but I like Earth Best varieties of organic foods, especially meat in jars. Does anyone know which one is the best or/and may be read something about those baby food brands? Thanks for sharing.
I tried to introduce my little girl to formula and rice cereal and she did not take to it. So we ended up with a can and a box of rice cereal that we would hate to throw away. The formula is Similax Insomil Advance soy formula, 8 oz can that was a sample from the hospital. It was open last week and is missing one teaspoon of formula. The rice cereal is Earth’s Best Organic whole grain rice cereal 8 oz box which was open last week as well. The rice cereal is missing 2 teaspoons. I threw the box away and placed the cereal in a food container so that it would stay fresh longer. If any one needs it please let me know. We live in Woodland Hills and my husband works in the city, so you can pick it up from either place.
First come first serve.
We are clean people and I am serious about conditions of my little ones food. The food has been kept in a cool dry place, I would not be afraid to give it to her, but she does not like it. If no one wants it I will try taking it to church on Monday. I really would feel horrible throwing it away knowing that someone couls use it to feed their baby.
