Great item! Organic, chemical free!

Review Date: December 21, 2006
Reviewer: Laurie A. Hamilton,
I have used these for the past few months and they work great, just like any other product I have used. EXCEPT they are made out of organic non bleached no chemical materials! I never knew I was using products with chemicals! What?! This is the only kind I will use and my teenage daughter. Too much cancer out there.... why use chemically treated tampons. It really got me thinking.
Buy a Case . . .

Seventh Generation Tampons are constructed like OB Tampons, but Seventh Generation Tampons are BETTER and better for you. I buy the case and don't have to worry about buying tampons for over a year. It's so convenient.
Excellent product

I stopped using regular (chlorine-bleached) tampons maybe 5 years ago after learning about the possible adverse health effects. These tampons are great. There is absolutely no difference regarding quality with any major brand-name tampons, and I feel much safer. They are a great buy, especially when you figure out the amount spent for these vs. similar organic tampons at a local health-food store. I like to support local business, but I am not wealthy and have a hard time paying $8-$9 for a box of 16 tampons. Give me a break! I just wish that Amazon would carry these in the "with applicator" version, which Seventh Generation makes. I like to have both on hand. Buy them.
love them!

Chemical free cotton

It's incredible to me why any woman would want to buy the standard store tampons with all the chemicals added to them. Why use other products with their bleach whitened chlorine when this is a perfectly natural eco-friendly alternative? My wife uses these and she swears by them.

Seventh Generation is a very good company and they offer three absorbency sizes. There are a lot of tampons in the box (240) but you will not have to buy them again for a while or just split a box with a friend.
Why poison yourself?

Review Date: February 12, 2010
Reviewer: X. Suzi,
I began using bleach-free tampons when I realized that the bleaching process uses carcinogens. That's a really intimate place to introduce a poison--yes? I used to get them at my health food store, but the store stopped carrying applioator-free tampons. I cannot conscience the killing of a tree, so I prefer applicator free tampons. This is also my reason for using recyled paper for bathroom tissue, paper towels et cetera.
almost as good...

It was really nice having a huge stash of supplies (the pack of 12) that lasted a long time. I just had to run to the store to buy other ones for certain days and kept these for light days. This product is almost as good as the "O.ther B.rand" but not quite! It was a comforting thing to have purchased an earth friendly product that was fairly comparable, but it was honestly not the same. They work fine most of the time but you have to use more of them since they do not absorb as much. Also, try to get a variety of sizes or the correct size for you. The size that I would have used mostly in the OB I have to use a size larger in seventh generation.
Great but too much packaging

There's no need to comment on the product itself, because the benefits are obvious to women looking for non-conventional toiletries, but there is way too much packaging. I wish the big shipment was just one giant box, not a million tiny 10/per box boxes!
Great tampons, lame wrappers

Love these, and love that I was able to buy what I am guessing will last a year, but each one individually wrapped in tight plastic? Is that really necessary?? The wrappers are really hard to get off, then the static makes them cling to everything once I do get them off. Chlorine free and organic is a plus, shouldn't be a choice to have chemicals in tampons...gross! Glad these are available.
organic tampons

great product, except difficult to open individual packaging for each tampon. Easy open pull tape seems to be inside out?
Worst designed applicator

Review Date: March 25, 2009
Reviewer: User, california
The applicator is so hard to use, it does not slide well so I have to struggle to push it in every time I use it. It's the stupidest design ever, and I don't understand why they can't get such a basic thing right. I'll never buy this product again. I'd rather use the Natracare organic tampon that doesn't have the applicator. Stupid stupid stupid.
