so, I’m 33 and 5’11" 140lbs

looks like my metabolism isn’t going to slow down yet.

I’m just starting to work with a personal trainer to bulk up muscle

-he said for me to eat 4 full eggs and 4 egg whites every day…seems a bit excessive. I’m thinking half of that?

-he also said to eat 1-1/2 cups oatmeal (I do that now)

-2 slices of non-enriched bread with (organic) peanut butter?

-I have been having a protein shake with milk in the morning and also at night. takes longer to digest than water, but more protein

for lunch OR dinner I have chicken every day

he said for me to have 3000-4000 cals too…

thoughts?

okay so I have recently started a vegan diet- But I do eat honey

here is what I have had in the last few days

MONDAY

coffee
4 apples
1 carrot
pretzel sticks
2 bananas
1 serving peanut butter
1 peach
1 can of green beans
1 serving of tortilla chips

TUESDAY

1 serving of cereal
2 apples
carrot
banana
pretzels
2 carrot/honey/oat cookie like things
tofu
peanut butter
honey
2 lightly salted rice cakes

WEDNESDAY

(so far)
1 carrot/honey/oat cookie like thing
2 carrots
1 serving peanut butter
a few bites tofu

the carrot/honey/oat cookie like thing is something I made it has carrot’s, oat’s, and honey instead of sugar, and sugar free apple sauce instead of oil and whole wheat flour- so its hand made with organic ingredients and very healthy

I am also trying to lose weight and I do kinda work out- I work at a daycare where I spend about 5 hours running around with two and three year old’s.

am I eating too much? too little?

do I need more of anything?

thanks. :D

Oh and I am only drinking coffee with sugar free/dairy free creamer
and diet mountain dew ( Not very good but I never have more then one can a day) and lots of WATER!

I would drink vegetable juice, fruit juice, whole milk, whey protien etc. And I would take liquid vitamins. And it would all be organic. Would a liquid diet be bad even if I’m still getting the proper nutrients and enough calories??? I’m a teenager. Would this affect my growth? Could I do it long term? as in several years?

Any help is much appreciated. Thankyou ^_^

I am a health freak, I am 154lbs, and 5’ 9 ½” but I love to eat, and I can’t help eat large portions I want to know if my diet is healthy, I know I am getting too much whole grain, but I don’t know if this is a bad thing. My breakfast usually consists of whole grain organic cereal/ or natural granola with vanilla soy milk, and GNC sport mega men vitamins. For lunch 75% of the time I eat kashi whole grain bars with whole grain cereal, with the occasional banana, kiwi, frozen blueberries. For dinner I eat again whole grain organic cereal. I am in the military and I am obsessed with exercise, running/ and 2-3hr a day gym work out, this is why I take whey protein throughout the day to compensate for my protein deficient diet, along with water throughout the day. I do not drink soda, candy any fast food, or energy drinks, no coffee, pizza none of that stuff. Due to my on the go lifestyle I can’t afford to sit down and prepare myself meals from scratch on a stove or oven I only have access to a regenerator. I need advise/help to get more out of my diet, and suggestions on what to incorporate or take away I know I am missing something.
Appreciate the answers, but like I said I have been taking vitamin supplements every morning for years, and my diet is very rich in fiber, and I take whey protein throughout the day
Also I am aware of this hormone in soy products, but everything contradicts itself, and health information is always changing, it is very confusing

About 3.5 weeks ago, I decided to get healthy and lose weight, so I completely changed my diet. I was eating crap like Taco Bell and pizza every day, and I switched to mostly organic fruits, vegetables, beans, etc. The only animal products I eat are organic skim milk, cheese, eggs and bacon. I make a lot of Mexican and Indian food and have never had a problem with spicy things before.

About a week ago, I made a frittata for breakfast and felt sick afterward. Then, on Monday morning at work, I ate a Clif bar and drank my usual coffee… then got REALLY sick. I actually threw up and was dizzy and sweating and my stomach was cramping. I thought it would pass, but now I get an upset stomach ANY time I eat, unless it’s something like crackers (I also tried yogurt today in hopes that the cultures would help somehow, and it didn’t make me sick!) It’s also tender under my left rib cage.

Why is my body rejecting this healthy new diet? Am I actually harming my body now? Did I somehow ruin my digestive system by eating so poorly in the past? Will I ever be able to digest real food or should I just give up? Thanks so much!
Wow, thanks, onlymatch4u! I was just getting started on the nutrition thing, so I hadn’t made my way to grass-fed animal products yet, but I plan to. I also just learned that about skim milk!
I stopped drinking everything but water and my morning coffee on weekdays, but I haven’t been able to do the coffee for a week now. I am not drinking quite as much as I should be, but I am drinking WAY more than I did before!

I’m 17, 5’2", 150 pounds and trying to get down to around 120 which is what my doctor said I should be. I know I’m going to have to start a healthy lifestyle with healthy eating and exercise to do this, but I’m thinking about going on a 2 day liquid diet for today and tomorrow to detox my system and to get my hydrated again ’cause I can feel that I’m extremely dehydrated. Thi liquid diet will consist of mostly water (at least 80 ounces a day). But I’ll also be drinking one serving of organic soy protein powder mixed in organic unsweetened soymilk (I know that sounds disgusting, but I’m a vegan and I’m used to it) and I’ll be having one serving of v8 fusion just to make sure I get vitamins. I’ll start exercising too, but obviously doing some was workouts since I won’t have food to give me energy. Probably just do 30-45 walking on the treadmill at about 3.5-4 mph maybe with a slight incline. And I’ll be doing crunches/push ups/squats/leg lifts too. But I won’t work myself too hard until I start eating healthy foods again on Wednesday. Will Thi help jump-start my new healthy lifestyle? Will I see any results just from this 2 day diet plan?
