ok, so I have been blessed with hair, lots of it :)
and when I want to remove this blessing for a while, I use MOOM *obviously I've moved on from an introductory - but I didn't see the big jar.
I just want everyone who's looking for wax to know that this product is tried and TRUE. and believe you me, I've tried MANY waxes - I will only endorse this and parissa pre-made regular strips.
moom smells great, removes hair great, and comes off great for when you're done, and best of all, it's natural :)
happy depilating, as happy a process as it can be... although the results usually are worth the pain :) |
Believe it!

I am a professional hairdresser. I know how much nicer waxing is than shaving...but wax is so messy. Especially if you aren't at a salon and don't have all the same tools at home.
I also have a microwave wax kit and it is no where near as awesome as this! Yes, waxing gets the job done but a microwave kit means reheating over and over, uneven application, and messy sticky countertops and legs. With MOOM I have none of that!
The temperature of MOOM stays consistent for much longer than microwave wax, and glides on very thinly. I did both of my legs and there is still so much product in the jar I can probably do them 20 more times! Amazing.
It really gets all the little hairs just like waxing. Except when I was done I wiped off the counters and my legs and was good to go. No residue!!! I washed the strips and laid them flat to dry.
I think MOOM hurts less than waxing because the consistency is finer, goes on more evenly, and gives you a better "pull." There aren't any leftover bits on your body to keep rolling over. If you do need to go over a spot, it doesn't take a layer of skin with it like wax.
MOOM, where have you been all my life? :)

Finally, a healthy alternative for facial hair treatment

For years, I have dealt with a bit of unwanted facial hair, and have in the past most often used bleach or a chemical depilatory, like Nair.
I stopped using Nair about 12 years ago when it burned my skin (the skin peeled) and left a scar that I have to this day and has only gotten deeper as I've aged.
With the bleach, I always have felt like I was sniffing toxic chemicals when applied to my upper lip.
Never having waxed (I'm too cheap for a salon), I heard about "sugaring" and Moom, and decided, for the price, to give it a try.
I can't believe how well it works.
First, it doesn't hurt. Well, maybe just barely. I was terrified it would pull my skin off and even planned my first use of it to preceed a 10-day camping trip. But no problems at all - no redness, no hurt skin, no nothing - except a smooth upper lip for the first time in a long time.
In terms of use, I do not have a microwave so I had to heat it on the stove in a pot of hot water which was not a problem at all. It was easy to apply. The directions instruct you to apply it warm, but not hot. They say to heat it up until the consistency of the product is that of honey. I have used it warmed to honey consistency and I have used it heated to runny honey, and actually it seems to be more effective if you heat it a bit more than they recommend - to the consistency of runny honey, that is. If you do, it will go on a little hotter so you do have to be careful that it isn't TOO hot, or it could burn your skin. Also, keep in mind I use it almost exclusively for upper lip hair, so it may be that the higher temp and runnier consistency allows the goo to adhere better to the shorter, finer hairs on the face.
Also, the instructions say to apply the strip to the skin where the goo has been spread, but not to rub it vigorously or it will seep through the strip. I have actually found, after having used the product for a couple of months, that on the face, it works best if you DO rub it vigorously, and let it cool off and harden for 20-30 seconds or so before attempting to pull it off.
Funny as this may sound, it is really quite rewarding to look on the little strips once you have pulled it off and see the hair you have successfully removed.
One thing I really like is that your skin just washes clean when you are done, the ingredients are natural, and the strips are reusable. Plus, if it doesn't remove all the hair, just put more of the goo on the spot to which you want to remove the hair, and try again. It barely hurts so you can do it again and again in the same spot with little pain.
It really does sound too good to be true, I am sure. But I couldn't be happier and am so glad I have found a solution that doesn't involve chemicals.

| I was looking for an alternative to shaving my lower legs since I only get about 2 days of smoothness before regrowth sets in. I've already tried chemical lotions and epilators with the costs not being worth the benefits. This is the first waxing/sugaring product I have tried and is likely to be the last. It was very easy to use and hardly painful at all (less than taking off a band aide). In fact, I noticed more pinching while spreading the sugar (warming the sugar decreases this) than I did pulling off the strips. Expect to make many trips to the microwave to re-heat this. Keeping it about halfway submerged in a bowl of hot water helps maintain proper temperature. Clean up was very easy. As to be expected with more sensitive skin, there was some redness which faded after about four hours. Hairs that were too short were missed, but they were so short that they weren't visible anyway. Results lasted 3-4 weeks. Regrowth is finer and less noticeable. |
Great Product!

| I've never done any waxing before, but this product really made it easy. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to shed a little extra hair and show of more of that beautiful skin! Much appreciated! |

| I am a busy SAHM to 3 scary boys. I've shaved all my life but decided to try waxing since I just don't have the time to shave every other days. I decided to buy moom b/c it is non toxic and the favorable reviews...and I am so glad I did. The first time I waxed was on Father's day 2008 and my husband helped me...Why? Haha b/c I was too chicken to pull on the fabric strip. Truth be told, it didn't hurt...I guess I have a high threshold for pain (I delivered my 3 monsters w/o meds). My hubby was very impressed w/ the product's ability to take hair out so effortlesly. I recommend this product for removing armpit annd leg hair. I have no tried this on bikini area as I recently gave birth. |
Decent Product

Works great. I am a first time waxer and was surprised how easy this was to use. It comes with strips that you can cut to your liking and it only takes a couple of seconds in the microwave for the wax (sugary mixture) to reach a spreadable consistency.
Recommended for any first timer.
My only issue with this product is that it doesn't provide you with a lot of wax. If you are the sort of person who will be waxing every possible area this will maybe last through three waxings. I have decided it hurts too much to do much beyond the 'essential' areas :) |
MOOM is a great product

Great product. Simple to use. Wax strips can lose their stickiness or the wax can stick to your face so much that it can cause wrinkles. Sugar works very well and, with just a little water, the sugar's removed. No problems.

Best wax out there.

| I love moom. I now don't 'dread' waxing. It pains a little of course but it is nothing terrible (like the other stuff out there). Only downside, it is kinda expensive and it sometimes doesn't get the tiny hairs. But regular mooming helps in giving the clean feeling. |
Love It!

| I am a complete novice waxer. I bought this to rid myself of some unwanted hair leftover from my recent pregnancy. I started with a wax that did get hair out but was so messy and obnoxious. I bought the Moom along with some other waxing strips. The Moom came first so I tried it out and loved it. It does have a bit of a learning curve and I will admit that it's taken me about 4 sessions to do my underarms. I'm in the process of my bikini line but am doing that in little bits. I'm getting the hang of not spreading the Moom on too thick. If you do, it gets messy and hurts more because you pull the hair but it doesn't come out, just gets really sticky. It really doesn't hurt that much. I need to try the baby powder to see if that makes a bit of a difference as far as removal. I would recommend this product to anyone. I love how easily it cleans up and the reusable strips are awesome! They give you plenty so no need to buy extras. Thanks to Moom for saving me a ton of money by not having to go to a salon!! |

you really can do this yourself, you know.

| Let me be the first to admit that I am an impatient wreck about a lot of things, waxing being one of them. I don't really care about my body hair, though I prefer to get rid of it at least once in a while, which has led to a life of sporadic waxing, shaving, and epilating. I hate waxing. I hate waxing so much that I am willing to pay someone $50 to slather my legs with something hot and use cloth strips to get it off. This is where Moom comes in. Is it wax? No - perfect, it doesn't matter if I get it everywhere. Do I still hate doing it? Yes. Is it more frustrating than it is effective? NO. I may have to Moom one leg at a time because I never can manage to minimize my use of the cloth strips enough, so this is a two-day process, what with washing the strips and waiting for them to dry. But is that Moom's fault? No, I'm just really bad at waxing. So while this will never be a perfect process from my perspective, Moom makes it as easy as possible. What's a little user error, after all? Moom wipes right up, gives results just as good as soft wax, and doesn't irritate my skin. Go for it. |
fantastic, especially once you get the hang of it.

there's a reason people go to salons to get waxed... there's a bit of a learning curve involved.
my first waxing experience in a salon was horrible - i wound up "crooked" and had to go back the next day to have it fixed after my skin had calmed down - so much for running home and surprising my boyfriend of the time. i was terribly self-conscious of my crooked vag-hawk.
folks, i am of middle eastern/mediterranean descent - i am a fairly hairy girl, and the hair i'm most interested in removing resides in the bikini area. needless to say it is abundant and COARSE. i also have, sometimes, two hairs growing from one pore there.
anyway... maybe TMI, but i did my first Moom last night - i might be a sick person but i actually enjoyed it so much i wound up giving myself a Brazilian - i was just amazed at how well it worked. Moom works like wax but what a joy, you can wash it right off with water and all the tools are reusable. i woke up silky smooth - no bumps, no whiteheads, and now, am just about to put the finishing touches on the job (when i said there's a learning curve, i meant it - i did NOT do a perfect job either, and going back over something twice in one go isn't so great for your skin, fantastic organic product or not - for better or for worse, this time there's no boyfriend to see my mess-up at the moment).
i'm swearing to Moom now. this stuff is AWESOME. |
Must try for veteran waxers

| I think we can all agree that unwanted facial hair is not fun...nor is removing it. For years I have waxed my upper lip--in addition to brief bleaching and cream remover stints--much to the dismay of my skin, which ALWAYS breaks out afterward. I have even done at-home waxing myself, which usually resulted in a layer or two of skin being removed, or a mess of pink gunk stuck to my bathroom counter. I was skeptical to try Moom, but was looking for a way to pinch pennies by striking "go get lip waxed" from my 'Things To Do' list. After trying it for the first time, I am very pleased. It was easy to heat up, fairly easy to apply (just follow the instructions) and ridiculously easy to clean up. It doesn't remove every hair, BUT the beauty is (and veteran waxers will appreciate this) you can go over the same area more than once without ripping off skin!! And (so far) I have not really broken out. I was especially impressed with how well it worked for my eyebrows. It did not work nearly as well when I tried it on my legs (and my hair was long enough), but I'm not terribly disappointed because I bought it specifically for removing facial hair. I would definitely encourage people to try this product--the ingredients can't be beat, it's easy to use, the price is reasonable, and (more or less) it does what it claims it will do. |
Much better than the usual stuff you can find here

I am coming from France where the home waxing market is much more developed than in the States. I have been through tons of products (Nair, Gigi, Nad etc..), all unsatisfactory for my money. Either they don't work, or they cannot be taken off with hot water, or both. Plus, they have strong (and often ridiculous) perfumes, which causes me allergy.
This one is much better than all the others I have tried. It works pretty well, does not irritate the skin, does not have a strong perfume, and is washable with water. It is still very expensive in comparison to my usual wax in France, but is the best I know on the US market.

| if you follow the instructions, it works, and it tastes good too! just follow the instructions exactly. its all natural and water soluble, so you can clean off any residue with a warm damp rag. also, rinse off the strips and dry them for reuse next time. works as well as waxing except you have to do it yourself. |

| If you are used to waxing, it hurts significantly less (in my opinion at least). One thing that may worry me is how long the product is actually going to last. I think I may just have not gotten used to it yet and have been using too much. Other than that, I love the fact that its organic and the product works as expected. Just follow the directions. :) |

| I purchased this product off the reviews it got. For clean up, definately a 5 star. For ease of use, not so much. I guess I didn't use the "perfect amount" or something! After trying to use on my eyebrows I gave up because it would barely remove any hair. On my legs it did ok, bikini line was ok as well. I tried a patch on my husbands' arm and it worked great, probably because the hair was so long. I waited for my hair to grow the recommended amount, a little over too, but it just wasn't as good as other products I've tried. With 2 kids ages 2 and 1 I don't have a ton of time to re-do a wax job. I am looking for success the first try. Not what I got here. Not terrible, just not up to my expectations |
Not for course hair

| I purchased this product hoping to switch to a less messy product. The hair on my calves is more course than the hair on my thighs, which is a problem for using this product. I used nearly every strip in the box trying to remove hair from my calves, and it removed a total of 12 hairs!! Works great on my thighs, however that is not worth the cost of this product. It does rinse completely away with soap and water and so do the strips as promised. If you have course hair, especially if you are a woman of color, this isn't for you. Sadly I will be going back to standard wax. :-( |
VERY Disapointed...

This did not remove hair well at all for me. I'm so disapointed! I even purchased an electric warmer to go with it, thinking I was really going to love this method. I had been using an epilator on my legs and underarms so it's not like my hair was stiff, and it is certainly not thick. I waited until the hair was long before I started using Moom but would have to apply and remove over the same area two to three times and still not remove every hair. What a shame.
