Some of us cannot afford such luxuries and are barely getting by and wouldn’t be if it weren’t for family. I have 3 children who are all perfectly healthy and have consumed regular cow’s milk. If there was truth to that, I doubt my elder boys would be as slim as they are.

It is better to give organic everything as opposed to non-organic…but kids aren’t going to die if they don’t consume organic.
And yes, regular cows are pumped with growth hormones and such so they can produce a greater amount of product.
None organic fruits and veggies are sprayed with pesticides to keep the bugs away yet it is not healthy.
The FDA doesn’t conclude that it is bad because they are not taking the time to do real research on it.They rather claim that it is safe just because people are no dropping dead.
Back in the old days the cancer rate wasn’t nearly as high and people weren’t so screwed up…the food was clean and untouched.
To each their own I guess.I feed my son oganic foods and he is pretty darn healthy.

I don’t know where you live but both Publix Super Market and Super Target sell regular whole milk without hormones….
although organic is the best choice to make in regard to milk sometimes the price is out of reach for many parents… my self included and it is nice to know there are hormone-free alternatives….
plus unless you’ve been using organic formula your kid has already been exposed to possible hormones and such in cow’s milk and hormones [phytoestrogens, isoflavones are similar to the hormone estrogen ] in soy if you use soy formula or soy milk…..

I hate to sound like a breast feeding nazi here but in all honesty cows milk is really only good for baby cows. If you’re incredibly worried about your child’s milk the only thing you can really do is make it yourself. That said I drink cows milk and soy milk and my son drinks small amounts of cows milk and regular dairy products, but I do try to buy the local dairy products and not the national brands when ever possible. some say soy milk will cause hormone problems too, and rice milk doesn’t have enough fat so it’s a rock and a hard place situation unless you want to buy your own cow but even then some will give you crap because the milks not pasteurized.

To answer your last question would be long and complicated but believe me Its all about the money … at the same time as keeping ppl safe (with pasturization and cheap with homogenization). And yes, some of it is necessary for efficiency and your safety some of it is disgusting. If you knew many things about the agricultural industry from the farm to the table you would be sick so I won’t get into it.
It is true about the hormones to make the cattle produce more. There are hormones in the feed whether the farmer wants there to be or not. Some farmers will feed most of their cattle graze fresh and baled hay which does cut down on the amount of poisons however, small local private farmers have been brainwashed and also need to use chemicals in the form of pesticides and insecticides on the farm just to survive – otherwise bugs and weeds will affect their yield. It is the most efficient way for them to do it and since they are just struggling as it is It becomes necessary. These chemicals contaiminate the entire farm and end up in cow’s milk.
The worst culprit believe it or not, is not only the hormones and chemicals but the homogenization. It is a process that is unnatural for your body. It was created to enable milk to last longer and to decrease the amount of separation of the cream from the milk. Homogenization makes the milk particles so small that they can scar your arteries. It is the worst believe me and this is why it is so important to drink organic unhomogenized milk if possible.
That means the entire farm is organic (for seven years) and the cattle are not supplemented with medicated feed.
It is your choice.
