Do you feed your baby/toddler organic or non organic foods? or a little of both?

I try to give my daughter mostly organic foods which isnt very hard since I can grow most of my own things and there is a local store that sells organic things cheaply but I was wondering how other moms feel on feeding organically and how important it is to them or if you feel its not important.

About all organic for my daughter, and as much local as I can get.
I think people don’t realize what has happened in the last few years as far as farming goes. The food we ate growing up was waaayyy closer to organic than the stuff out there now, there has been a drastic increase in pesticide use and genetic modification. not to mention that the big companies have monopolized the industry, are getting major tax cuts and are squeezing out the authentic ‘farmer’. This is why we need to shop locally in order to preserve our communities.
I also have allergies ot pesticides and have since I was a child.
There are some fantastic documentaries out there to learn about it. Food Inc. Is one of the newer ones that covers it very very well.

I respect anyones decision about feeding their children organic foods, but I personally don’t buy into the organic food market. Organis food consumption had really just become more popular in only the last few years, so anyone before that ate just regular food. I ate regular fruits and veggies all my life and continued to do so and I turned out perfectly healthy. So it’s matter of opinion, but I will not be feeding my son organic foods.

We do not feed our 8 month old organic baby foods. She gets good ole Gerber/BeechNut fruits & veggies along with rice/oatmeal cereals.

Organic at the moment…mommy’s milk. :)
As for the future, I’ll go for healthy, not "organic". Organic really does nothing different for you than other food. Your stomach digests it all the same, it’s not like by the time it comes out of you it’s "bad poop" or "healthy poop" because of organic food. It’s just digested and converted into what your body uses and what it doesn’t.
Lots of things that are grown organically are a lot worse for you than something else processed. Like certain poisonous mushrooms… "but it came directly from the ground!!"…yes, yes it did. So did almost everything used on non-organic foods.
Hah, I actually really don’t mind either way. I think organic foods are perfectly tasty and all, but in the end, I don’t believe (personally) that they make a real difference. Me and my family will go more for a healthy lifestyle, rather than just supposedly healthy foods alone.

I have never fed my older son anything but non organic stuff. Organic stuff is just too expensive and not that important to me (no one in my family eats organic food, and so has never been apart of my life). Plus i don’t think it’s necessary at all, to me it doesn’t seem any healthier then regular healthy food, plus my pediatrician said that some food that is supposed to be organic really isn’t and therefore u are paying extra money for food that really isn’t organic. Course if u grow most of ur stuff then u know that stuff is organic and so therefore to me is fine, and if u can get the rest of the stuff cheaply then good, but for me i will never buy organic food as it’s not important to me in the least bit.
Hope this helps, :D
